Growing Demand of English Teachers

At the 2020 International Education Service Trade Convention, officer introduced that in recent years, China has been committed to promoting the opening-up of education and deepening educational cooperation with countries around the world.
China released a draft regulation over the recruitment and management of foreign teachers
According to statistics released by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs in 2019, only 10 percent of foreigners teaching in China hold valid certificates.
Circumstances under which foreign teachers will be subject to termination of employment
Words and deeds that damage China's national sovereignty, security, honor, or public interests;
Be held criminally responsible;
Obstructing the implementation of the education policy;
Violating public security management such as taking drugs.
Sexual assault or abuse of minors, sexual harassment of students or other serious crimes and violations of China's public moral and teachers' professional ethics and codes of conduct;
New regulations underscore ban against the unauthorised promotion of religion in the classroom.
Foreign teachers should refrain from proselytizing without permission. Anything deemed threatening China’s sovereignty, violating the criminal code, or obstructing the implementation of education policy could result in teachers having their visas canceled or denied.
What's required for foreign teachers in China
Besides gaining a valid work permit and residence permit, if one wants to be an English teacher in China and you don't have 2 years of teaching experience, he/she will need a TEFL/TESOL certificate.
1. You can directly get a certificate by taking the TEFL/TESOL exam in China.
2. TEFL certificates from overseas needs to be notarized.
If you are applying for notarization and you are not in China, you need to visit the Chinese Embassy in that country.
