Employee Departure Checklist
Plan work-permit cancellation and residence-status next steps once departure is confirmed.
When to start offboarding
Start the permit process once the final working day and termination arrangement are confirmed. For a transfer, place the former employer’s cancellation, the new filing and the current residence deadline on one timeline.
What needs to be completed
Prepare termination documents, cancel the work permit and obtain the relevant certificate. Check the residence status and agree the employee’s transfer, lawful stay or departure plan. The employer should retain filing and handover records.
Important note
Work-permit cancellation and residence-status follow-up are separate procedures and are not normally completed automatically together.
