Foreign Employee Hiring Checklist
Check the candidate, proposed role and core documents before confirming the hire.
Information to confirm about the candidate
Before hiring, confirm the candidate’s passport, highest degree, relevant work history, criminal-record document and background-check status. The employer should also define the proposed position, salary and work location, as these factors shape eligibility and the application route.
Build the application plan
After the initial review, we prepare a route based on the candidate and employer. Additional documents may be required as issues are identified. Begin at least two to three months in advance to allow time for document preparation, authentication and filing.
Important note
A pre-check identifies a possible route and points requiring verification; it is not government approval. Avoid committing to a fixed start date before eligibility and documents are confirmed.
